Shibuya Restaurants - Hokkaido Ramen Ajigen

Hokkaido Ramen in Shibuya
Located on Udagawa-cho, about 5 minutes from Shibuya Station is this great little restaurant. It’s also conveniently located next to a Yoshinoya shop, so it is easy to find.
This is not a restaurant for those looking for intimacy or a romantic time as there are no tables. The shop has one large counter, and that’s it! The counter is completely packed after 5 with businessmen in suits. Why? The food is cheap, tasty, and the service is incredibly fast. The atmosphere is not exactly charming, but the staff is. The owner is usually in the store and he’s quite a nice guy.
The process here is similar to a lot of lower price ramen shops, buy some tickets and hand them to the waiter. The price ranges from about 600 to 900 yen for ramen and 150 yen for Gyoza.
The ramen I tried the first time was spicy Tan-Tan-Men. A spicy soup with ground beef. The large bowl comes filled to the brim with soup, noodles, and a variety of vegetables. The difference between Hokkaido Ramen and other areas seems to be that Hokkaido ramen is more creamy. It will be a great experience for those who haven’t tried it, and at a very low price.
