One of the sights in Shibuya that is not always seen is NHK Studio Park.  It is located inside the large NHK Broadcasting building on Koen-Dori near Yoyogi Park.  It is actually a bit easier to get to from Harajuku Station on the JR Yamanote Line.  One can walk from Shibuya Station quite easily, but it may be a bit of a walk.

NHK as many know is the national television service for Japan.  NHK has news and sporting events such as Sumo as well as dubbed foreign programs from around the world on basic television, BS Digital Satellite channels and a variety of CS  Satellite channels. (paid subscription Satellite TV)

For a mere 200 Yen for adult visitors, one can see the process of creating television and radio programs, and also become part of a talk show audience!  One of the main draws is the mock setup of the NHK newsdesk where eager visitors are able to try their hand at the teleprompter… Ron Burgandy wannabes beware!

Television screens can be viewed of all the 21 NHK studios in action, and sets of famous shows from the past and present can also be viewed.  One such is the Samurai Drama set where staff will take pictures of visitors in traditional garb. Another interesting site is the 3-D Hi-Vision Theater where 3D images are created without the need for goofy glasses!  NHK is the first studio to create such technology.

These are just a few of the attractions inside NHK Studio Park, and for a mere 200 Yen makes a great tourist spot in Shibuya.
